Call it
Loretta Young meets Carol Burnett. This is part catechism class, part stand-up
routine. Late Nite Catechism is a
hilarious comedy by Vicki Quade and Maripat Donovan that introduces you to
Sister—who is here to brush up your religious doctrine.
The New York Times
calls it, "hilarious, well-written and inspired." Judy Reinert
states, "Far funnier than ‘Nunsense,’ Late
Nite Catechism is a brilliant production in every way."
You, the audience member,
are part of Sister’s class. She’ll take you back to the days of the Latin Mass,
meatless Fridays, and remind you about that good old ruler across the knuckles!

Oscar
Wilde's classic comedy is a delight from the first cucumber sandwich on as Jack
and Algernon’s double lives catch up with them. Eventually, each of them
assumes the identity of “Ernest,” a fictitious character who helps them escape
unwelcome social obligations. Two love stories, two cases of mistaken
identity—intrigue abounds throughout this tale of love, friendship, and deception.
The problems are resolved in an extremely charming and unexpected way as the
characters and audience alike learn “the importance of being earnest.”

The Producers
July 23-26 & July 29-Aug 2, 2009
A
down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up
with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history thereby bilking
their backers (all “little old ladies”) out of millions of dollars. Only one
thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! The antics of Max Bialystock and Leo
Bloom as they maneuver their way fecklessly through finding a show (the
gloriously offensive “Springtime For Hitler”), hiring a director, raising the
money and finally going to prison for their misdeeds is a lesson in broad comic
construction. At the core of the insanely funny adventure is a poignant
emotional journey of two very different men who become friends.
With a truly
hysterical book co-written by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan (Annie) and music
and lyrics by Mr. Brooks, The Producers skewers Broadway traditions and takes
no prisoners as it proudly proclaims itself an “equal opportunity offender!

Art
September 17-20 & 24-27, 2009
How much
would you pay for a white painting? Would it matter who the painter was? Would
it be art? One of Marc's best friends, Serge, has just bought a very expensive
painting. To Marc, the painting is a joke, but Serge insists Marc doesn't have
the proper standard to judge the work. Another friend, Ivan, though burdened by
his own problems, allows himself to be pulled into this disagreement. Eager to
please, Ivan tells Serge he likes the painting. Lines are drawn and these old
friends square off over the canvas, using it as an excuse to relentlessly
batter one another over various failures. As their arguments become less
theoretical and more personal, they border on destroying their friendships. At
the breaking point, Serge hands Marc a felt tip pen and dares him: "Go
on." This is where the friendship is finally tested, and the aftermath of
action, and its reaction, affirms the power of those bonds.
